The Story of Us

Well I guess I will start off by telling the story of how Jonathan and I met, fell in love and got married because it's just such a cute story! Jonathan has a friend named Ben and I have a friend named Jessica. In June of 2005 our two friends decided to have a wedding and asked each of us to be in the wedding party. I remember being so excited for her and, being that I was incredibly boy-crazy, wondering about who I would be walking with. She said Jon Hicks and I thought that I actually knew him somehow, of course I didn't. Anyway at the wedding rehearsal dinner he came over to my table and sat with me and we chatted. I was immediately interested in him and the rest of that weekend I kept trying to find a way to be near him and talk to him. After that weekend I had a day off from work and when I went in the next day the girls said some guy came in looking for me. I called up Jonathan and found out it was him. We decided to go on a date that very night and it was the best date I have ever been on! He took me out for Thai food and we were both so comfortable, we talked until the restaurant had been closed for an hour. The workers there were so nice to have let us stay that long. Afterward we went to Jonathan's house and drank beer out on the deck. We had every little thing in common, so much that I can't even remember all of it anymore but we acted as if we had known each other forever and we laughed so much. It was great! On July 3rd we went to the Colfax fireworks and decided to date each other exclusively (this was about a week after we met). Jonathan got a job at Westmont College so he was moving away to Santa Barbara. I couldn't imagine being without him so I decided to take a trip down there with him to check out the town and consider moving there. We were so in love that Jonathan asked me to marry him on the beach in Santa Barbara during that visit (1 month after we had met). I said yes, of course, and we planned to marry on December 17, 2005. It was a beautiful wedding. We had it in Auburn, at my church. We spent our wedding night at the Rainbow Lodge and that was my favorite place we went on our Honeymoon. Because it was so romantic and covered in snow. I feel so lucky to have met someone who I feel like I have known for always, who will always be my very best friend.
The picture above was taken on our first camping trip, about 2 or 3 weeks after we had met.
